Sidecut

Elliptical Sidecut– Elliptical Sidecut is made up of a longer radius underfoot and shorter radii in the tip and tail of the ski.The long radius underfoot means you can pivot faster and easier, while a shorter radius in the tip and tailresult in easier turn initiation. This sidecut allows for a wide variety of turn lengths, angles and mountingpositions.

Core

Sustainable Poplar-Ash Wood Core– Poplar is a light-colored, durable softwood that flexes and pops nicely as well as having great vibrationabsorption capabilities. Ash is a heavier hardwood, that complements Poplar by adding stiffness anddurability. This duo provides excellent hold on hard snow, a solid base for stomping landings and enough pop and flex for creativity.

Sidewalls

Microcap Full Strength Sidewall– Micro-cap construction is a hybrid of a premium, sandwich sidewall construction fused with a lightweight,durable cap construction. With micro-cap, the sandwich construction provides awesome edge hold andtorsional stability while the ski’s topsheet wraps around and meets the sidewall, protecting the fragile jointthat can be prone to chipping.

Edges

XL 2.5mm Edges– Fractions of a millimeter might not sound like much, but when it comes to edges, it adds up. The2.5mm edges add an extra 25% of height to Faction’s standard 2mm edge, making for a stronger and more durable ski.

Terrain: Park & Pipe, All-Mountain Park & PipePark and pipe skis, often called freestyle skis, are for skiers who spend the majority of their time on jumps, rails, and jibs of all kinds. Traditionally park and pipe skis have narrower waists with full camber profiles, but this category is incorporating more rocker patterns and different shapes. You will almost always find these skis with twin tips as well as other park specific features like thicker, more durable edges, dense extruded bases, and butter zones. All-MountainAll-mountain skis are designed to handle anything you throw at them including powder, ice, groomers, steeps, heavy snow, and everything in between, but they aren’t necessarily a master of any one terrain. If you’re only going to own one ski to do it all, this is what you want. All-mountain skis generally have what we call mid-fat waists that range from 80-110 mm.

Skis: No Bindings

Ability Level: Beginner-Intermediate Beginner-IntermediateWhether you’re new to the sport or working on linking smooth turns, you fall into this ability level. Typical beginner skis and snowboards are usually built with softer materials, narrower widths, and feature cap construction for an easy to turn, forgiving ride. Beginner-intermediate boots and bindings are also built for ease of use and progression, featuring softer flexes and in the case of ski bindings, quick and safe release from the ski in case of a fall.

Rocker Type: Rocker/Camber/Rocker Rocker/Camber/RockerRocker/Camber/Rocker skis have the playfulness and float of a rockered ski as well as the added edge hold of a cambered ski. The contact points on skis with this profile are closer towards the middle of the ski than a fully cambered ski, but still not underfoot. The cambered midsection provides a longer effective edge on hardpack, increasing edge hold and stability, while the rockered tip and tail provide floatation in deeper snow and allow the ski to initiate and release from turns easier.

Tail Type: Partial Twin Tip Partial Twin TipPartial twin tip skis have a tail that is turned up, but not as much as the tip. This gives you the ability to ski backwards and back out of tight spaces, but these skis are mainly designed to ski forward.
