Experienced backcountry skiers seldom agree on how much weight is too much, or how light you can go before the downhill performance suffers too big a hit. Almost everyone, though, agrees the Moment Wildcat Tour 108 Skis have hit the sweet spot for uphill efficiency vs downhill power. Combined with Moment’s famed Mustache Rocker, a lightweight Paulownia / Ash wood core, and all the trimmings usually associated with Moment quality, the Wildcat Tour 108 nails it when the trail turns downhill.

Rocker Type

Mustache Rocker– Rocker at the tip and tail and camber underfoot allows for incredible float and maneuverability in the trees and chutes while maintaining a significant amount of edge hold for both the icy runouts and the groomers.

Core

Paulownia / Ash Wood Core– Full length, knot free, vertically laminated in house. Our unique touring oriented core offers unrivaled energy in an ultralight package. No hollow dead feeling here. The real deal, just light on its feet so you can go back for more.

Laminates

Lowfat Layup– A combination of custom lighter triaxial, carbon fiber designed to compliment Moment’s touring cores makes the uphill easier without sacrificing fun on the way back down.

VDS Damping– Rubberized VDS foil is placed at strategic locations throughout the construction to increase bond strength and provide vibration damping for more stability and increased control.

Sidewalls

ABS Sidewall– Extruded sidewalls constructed of modified Acrylonitrile-Butadiene-Styrene (ABS) provide stiffness, dampening, durability. Allow for more impact resistance and easier repairs that stay put so you can bring the abuse year after year, season after season.

Base

7500 Series Carbon Base– Carbon infused sintered UHMWPE (Ultra High Molecular Weight PolyEthylene). Harder, faster and with better wax absorption and retention than extruded bases this is the industry leader for performance and longevity.

Edges

2.2 Euro Edge– There are only handful of edge manufacturers in the world and Moment go straight to the source in Europe to offer the best edge possible. They do additional heat treating and bonding prep in house to make sure your edge stays sharper, lasts longer and can handle a beating.

Graphics

Textured Nylon Topsheet– Moment use a textured nylon topsheet material enhanced with sublimated graphics‒a non-toxic and eco-friendly alternative to silkscreen. This topsheet material ensures optimal durability and impact resistance while maintaining crisp and bright graphics.

Binding Compatibility

We recommend a brake width equal to or at most 15 mm wider than the ski waist width.

Terrain: Big Mountain, Alpine Touring Big MountainBig mountain skis are designed for charging big lines with high speeds and big airs. These skis varry in width from wide, powder-oriented skis for skiing Alaska spines to narrower, mixed condition skis for ripping the beat up headwall at your local mountain. Skis in this category tend to be on the stiffer side, often with more rocker in the tip and less in the tail. Alpine TouringAlso known as backcountry skis, alpine touring (AT) skis are designed for going uphill as well as downhill. These skis are typically light for their width and many feature fittings that accept climbing skins. AT skis vary in width and weight, with the wider heavier versions usually used for winter/deep snow touring and the skinnier, lighter skis usually used for spring/summer/long distance touring.

In skis and snowboards, you’ll often find layers of metal, carbon or other stringers for rigidity and power, while advanced to expert level boots and bindings are usually on the stiffer side of the spectrum for rebound and precision steering.

Rocker Type: Rocker/Camber/Rocker Rocker/Camber/RockerRocker/Camber/Rocker skis have the playfulness and float of a rockered ski as well as the added edge hold of a cambered ski. The contact points on skis with this profile are closer towards the middle of the ski than a fully cambered ski, but still not underfoot. The cambered midsection provides a longer effective edge on hardpack, increasing edge hold and stability, while the rockered tip and tail provide floatation in deeper snow and allow the ski to initiate and release from turns easier.
