The Völkl Flair 79 Skis + iPT WR XL 11 TCX GW Bindings are a fantastic all-round setup that will help you start realizing your ski potential from the first run. The XTD rocker profile is easy to turn but leaves plenty of edge grip for those firm days. Völkl has shaved extra mass from the ski profile with their unique 3D.Ridge construction, which leaves a strong structural ridge in the center of the ski but reduces the thickness of the edges of the ski to a minimum. Center sidewall construction gives the tip and tail of the Flair 79 a forgiving flexibility, but leaves edge grip under your boot where you need it.
Rocker Type
XTD Tip and Tail Rocker– Unique rocker shape, longer rocker profile compared to traditional tip & tail rocker, very short cambered profile under foot, more solid shovel and softer middle section.
Shape
3D.Ridge Technology– The distinctive characteristic of this technology is a raised central ridge that sharply levels out towards the edges, both in front of and behind the binding. This reduces the inertial mass around the fulcrum to a minimum and significantly enhances the agility of the ski. At the same time, the center ridge allows for a precise dimensioning of the hardness distribution, which leads to an especially harmonious flex on the ski. Despite the weight savings, 3D.Ridge ensures that there are no compromises in the ski‘s durability and elasticity.
Core
Dual Woodcore XL– Extra light PU construction with two parallel wooden cores in the ski body.
Laminates
Powered by Steel– A steel layer in the ski provides very good durability, controlled flex and smooth skiing at faster speeds.
Sidewalls
Center Sidewall– Direct and strong power transmission with partial sidewalls in the center of the ski, combined with the super-slim 3D.Ridge construction.
Base
P-Tex 2100 Base– A sintered high-density and high molecular polyethylene base with great gliding characteristics and high durability.
Included Bindings
Includes iPT WR XL 11 TCX GW Bindings– DIN Range 3 – 11
Bindings Come Mounted to Skis– Always have a certified binding technician adjust your bindings.
- Terrain: All-Mountain All-MountainAll-mountain skis are designed to handle anything you throw at them including powder, ice, groomers, steeps, heavy snow, and everything in between, but they aren’t necessarily a master of any one terrain. If you’re only going to own one ski to do it all, this is what you want. All-mountain skis generally have what we call mid-fat waists that range from 80-110 mm.
